Due to developments in the United States surrounding COVID-19, we have opted to postpone the opening of Zero Day Resupply until further notice. This decision was not an easy one to make. However, after much consideration we have deemed this action the socially responsible way forward.
Small businesses the world over are suffering and we are willing to do the same in the hopes that our unavailability as a resupply option will dissuade more hikers from continuing with their plans. Ultimately, a thru-hike falls into the category of discretionary travel. As major trail associations issue their requests for hikers to postpone or cancel their trips, we want to reinforce this message and urge those still on the fence to heed this advice.
Please think of the people you could endanger, the communities that you will undoubtedly impact and the associated risk to your person. Understand that many individuals have worked hard through the years to forge the relationships between the long trails and the towns through which they pass. Consider the stress you will unavoidably place on the future of thru-hiking.
The fact remains that this is a time for unity and sacrifice in our country. We do understand that our decision comes at significant financial loss to our business, yet we feel justified in making this move.
We look forward to continuing our service for the thru-hiking community in years to come.
